Evolutionary Astrology
Why do we find ourselves stuck, blocked, limited by our beliefs to pursue what we deeply desire? Evolutionary astrology can provide a way to understand the underlying ‘why’ to this question. The journey of the soul is a process of lifetimes of exhausting desires, until the only desire left is to return to Source. Each life is like a chapter of a book, with a new ego created to play out the desires of the soul. Whatever desires remain and whatever needs to be resolved from the past life is carried forward into the next chapter and played out by the new ego. Where you are on your journey is perfectly aligned with the planetary influences, other celestial bodies and points in the sky. These influences are here to support you. You always have free will, the choice is yours on how you engage with life. The time and place of your birth is perfectly orchestrated to support your soul’s mission.

Pluto, the Evolution of the Soul, written by Jeffrey Wolf Green, was birthed through a dream he received from Sri Yukteswar, but it took him many years to begin writing the book. He resisted the call. I was drawn to this work about 30 years ago, a little over a Saturn cycle. Why did I resist my call for so long? We resist evolution because it brings fear of the unknown, we resist change because we become comfortable with what we know. Together we can look at how the stars have aligned for you.
Venus Star Point and the Living Sky
I follow the Venus cycle as a way of connecting with the living sky. This is a process of conscious purification, to shed what is inauthentic and return to your sacredness essence.
The waning balsamic Moon and Venus meet 7-8 times while morning star Venus descends into the underworld. At each of these lunar gates Inanna must surrender a sacred vestment. We too must release the habits, beliefs and patterns that are blocking our true nature. When Venus is in the underworld she metaphorically dies and is reborn, purified by the fire of the Sun.
When Venus ascends as an evening star she reclaims lost or forgotten parts of herself. She shares her wisdom with others and shines a light to guide us in the night. During this phase, Venus meets with the waxing crescent Moon 7-8 times.
Venus forms a 5 pointed star every 8 years. At each Venus point a new meta-goddess is reborn. The meta-goddess before your birth provides an overarching theme, influencing your values, way of communicating and receiving from others. Your greatest joys and creative gifts are associated with your meta-goddess. Where you were born within this cycle indicates where there is a call to healing. Each Solar/Venus phase provides insight into your inner relationship, how you shine your light outward and how you receive other’s light.
I integrate this 19 month cycle with the natal chart from an evolutionary astrology perspective, which focuses on Pluto, the nodal axis and retrogrades, which serve as a way of accelerating your soul’s evolution.
